Your Tax Dollars at Work!

Soooooo, I can't remember if I mentioned this or not, but from about two weeks after he got here, we've been working on getting Little Man an evaluation with our county intermediate unit (henceforth referred to as "IU") for his processing and speech issues.  After lots of back and forth phone calls between me, Brenda, Little Man's county worker and the IU peeps (including a 1/2 hour phone call between me and the IU representative re-hashing ALL of the information I already wrote on the application and admonishing me for registering him for a pre-K in another county!), we got the final approval paperwork in the mail and waited for them to call to schedule the evaluation.  I waited and waited and waited and waited.  A friend of mine said that it took her county almost two months to schedule the appointment for her kids so I waited some more.  Then, yesterday, I got a letter in the mail from the IU.  It was a Cc of a letter sent to his county worker.  Apparently, the IU dude has been leaving messages for the county worker since MAY 1st to try to set up the evaluation and she has not called him back.   AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

1. Why is IU Dude calling the county worker to set up the appointment when she only sees him once a month and wouldn't even be bringing him to the appointment and I was the one who spoke with the IU in the first place and answered all of their questions so I know they know I exist?!
2. Why didn't the county worker call IU Dude back for over a month and just tell him to call me?!
3. Why do I continue to expect that people will do what they are supposed to do?!
