As I was walking out the door to head to work on Saturday, the phone rang. Normally, I wouldn't answer an unknown number (yes, if your name doesn't come up with your number on caller ID or if I don't recognize the name, I will screen you..that's what good introverts do) but this name was too intriguing - Adoption Advocates. When I answered, it was our OCY attorney calling to tell me that we have a court date for finalization!!!!! On March 6th (a year and four days after he was placed with us) at 9 a.m., I will officially become Little Man's mom!
He is looking forward to choosing where we go out to lunch to celebrate that day and I am looking forward to being out from under foster care requirements for a while. Of course, you do realize that this means our next foster care placement will follow shortly thereafter. Because that's just how life works and I'm okay with it.
