And another sharp turn...the staffing for the siblings has been canceled. Very Far Out-of-State Caseworker e-mailed me this afternoon to say that a family who knows the kids has asked to be considered for their adoption. Of course, the caseworkers want to speak with the teenaged boy about his thoughts before moving forward in any direction but, unfortunately, because of caseworker vacations, that cannot happen until the week of December the 9th at the earliest.
If these people are a good match and can keep the kids in their community, then I'm all for it. It would be disappointing for us but it's not about us. Overall, this whole experience has given me some hope that there are caseworkers looking at our family as a whole and not judging us solely on family size (it didn't even matter that we were about five states away!). I would ask that you still continue to keep the kids in prayer, that God would help their family find them sooner rather than later.
